An Act Institutionalizing Energy Efficiency And Conservation, Enhancing The Efficient Use Of Energy, And Granting Incentives To Energy Efficiency And Conservation Projects.
Yes, this law mandates all establishments and facilities to monitor, manage, and improve their energy consumption, as well as requiring manufacturers of energy consuming devices to comply with Energy Labeling standards.
There are penalties associated for non-compliance. This will be fined to both the Energy Practitioner within the facilities, as well as the owners of the companies.
Everyone is covered by this law. Special attention is given to facilities consuming 100,000 kWh and above annually since they will be required to submit Energy consumption and conservation reports.
All Designated Establishments (DE) from Commercial, Industrial, and Transport (CIT) Sector who have an annual energy consumption of not less than 100,000 kWh re required to comply with the Memorandum Circular.
